I provide numerous patterns for all of the projects we will be practicing with. We will have 2 full days October 5 & 6 to focus on small simple designs to practice the trio of watercolour factors , Water, Paint and Paper. We will also explore the many ways to exploit Watercolor’s inherent characteristics to create textures and shortcuts,

We will be painting in the Fir Creek studio 5085 Gainsberg Road in Deep Bay… second exit off of the 4 lanes in Bowser … first right as you cross the RR tracks

I always have extra stuff if you don’t “have” the stuff on the list.... this isn’t about having the right colours or brushes it is about skills. And if you are a bit hesitant to go to the art store I do have a basic kit. It includes everything you need to get started you just need paper. It includes all the artist grade paint, in a folding portable palette, a set of basic brushes and pen, pencil, and other assorted bits and pieces. You just need to purchase the paper.

Brushes I tend to use mostly Mop or round brushes ... larger rather than smaller for a round brush you need at least a #12/#14 . A smaller #6/8 round brush But you don’t need more than a couple brushes ...

(Qualicum Art Supply has some good Taklon Brushes )

one (two if you can) full sheets (22”x 30”) of 140lb, cold Press, 100% cotton, Watercolour paper...

Food… the Sandbar Cafe is in qualicum bay … Highway 19 a….and there is a lovely cafe in Magnolia Court in Bowser, they do takeout or eat in … Or you can bring your lunch and eat in the area and walk around the grounds ) the chickens love leftovers!!!… we will definitely be taking a break of up about an hour.
